A bit more docile but not any less impressive are the Lombit, a species in the beginnings of social cohesion, and formidable hunters. While they express nowhere near the level of ferocity of the HER, they have been able to take down great prey and quite often occupy denser areas until they are retaken by the DOS, and even then they sometimes prevail, having the better side of the record in group defense against the DOS. Their small size (1 meter long at most) along with their incredibly strong jaw and rock shredding capable teeth make them difficult to catch even for seasoned research teams, it took almost a full 10 years to catch the first Lombit and much longer to develop a proper procedure for capture that did not need a genius at the controls every time. They also exhibit extremely keen eye sight, even in no light conditions, which makes them able to inhabit the complete density zones that few other creatures of ON are capable of withstanding, let alone thriving in. They are masters of defense as far as creatures of the lonely torus go, in reality no creature attacking any of their strongholds has prevailed, even in the case of foolhardy Seebolit.
