The Timog species is not prolific and by most standards would be considered endangered, however, the species deceives in this way. While there are only around about 100 of the creature at any given time, this number is more than enough to keep the species going as they boast in-edibility and almost an age long lifespan. It seems the Timog is an original species of ON, not much changed since it's apparent creation thousands of ages ago. Their long life span makes evolution a slow process, as does their invulnerability. Most speculation points to the Timog being a control species in a vast artificial environment experiment, but there's much more to it than that. Against many bets placed by unnamed scientists the Timog have been officially tested and passed as sentient. Despite this they have no common method of communication and seem to not want to do much more than sit in swamps and tear through much of the flora of ON. In fact, despite their stature they are almost a greater pest than the Garabrop and certainly have been the cause of a number more deaths. Despite these creatures reluctance to engage with other species they will kill in retaliation. This is made easy by their poison saturated bodies from which they can excrete an even more potent toxin, which even just on touch can melt most flesh. For this reason and for their status as beings they are not to be disturbed unless it is for their safety. From remote scans and a number of qualifying responses, we do know that they have an extremely high intellect and seemingly the capacity for communication but they either choose not to use it or the mechanisms have atrophied from their prior state. Now we go to a short story regarding the discovery of the Timog.

'In 99% of species there is a genetic predisposition to a hunting state, the need and the ability to provide food. This is what we observed on the first run over of the outpost however during our second run it wasn't quite so simple. A minuscule amphibian species was found deep (well as deep as these can go) jungle. Known as the Timog now, the species was completely unknown before and assumed to be a locally evolved species. Upon contact with the species we noted that a further field study would be needed and so we set out on foot to investigate. From our perch in the trees we could see what seemed to be an incredibly complex community: indoor living spaces, an ability to trade, an incredible and minuscule species they are. Despite this we observed no communication, written or spoken, it seemed that, if anything, they were communicating through body language.'
